1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Robin Oehler, Basteistraße 61b, 53173 Bonn, Germany, email: mail@roehler.nrw, phone: +49 170 369 52 57. See also the imprint.

2. Your files are processed only on your device

All PDF tools on this website run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The files you select, their content and the results are never transmitted to our server or to anyone else. They are discarded when you close or reload the page.

3. Hosting and server log files

When you open this website, your browser sends technical data to our web server, which our hosting provider Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany (privacy policy) processes on our behalf: IP address, date and time of the request, requested file, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the website securely and to detect abuse (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure and working website). The log files are not merged with other data and are deleted automatically by the hosting provider after a short period. We have concluded a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) with the hosting provider.

4. No third-party services

All scripts, fonts, icons and OCR language data are served from our own server. We do not use content delivery networks, web fonts from third parties, analytics, advertising or social media plugins. No data is shared with third parties.

5. Cookies and local storage

We do not set cookies. Your browser stores the following on your device only, which never reaches us:

  • your light/dark theme choice (local storage),
  • a cached copy of the website's files so the tools load faster and work offline (service worker cache),
  • downloaded OCR language data (IndexedDB), so it only needs to be downloaded once,
  • briefly, a result PDF when you pass it on to another tool with “Continue with this PDF” (IndexedDB, deleted as soon as the tool opens).

This storage is technically necessary to provide the features you request (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Since we do not store personal data apart from the short-lived server logs, we will usually not be able to identify you.

7. Changes

We may update this policy when the website changes. Last updated: 7 October 2026.
